Best Keurig for an Airbnb

Airbnb guests vary and depending on your listing, your house can accommodate a large group of people. As an Airbnb host, you want your guests to enjoy the amenities and that includes a good cup of coffee.

Most people see if coffee is included in an Airbnb listing before they book and that is understandable as they probably need coffee to prepare for their day. Having a Keurig in your Airbnb listing can make your guests happy as it is very convenient and easy to use. The K-Duo is a great addition to your listing as it not only brews single-serve cups but can also brew a whole pot of coffee.

In this article, I will be talking about why the K-Duo is the best Keurig for an Airbnb. I will also cover some pros and cons of using a Keurig for an Airbnb so you can decide whether to use one or not.

Best Keurig for an Airbnb – Keurig K-Duo

It can be hard to find a good coffee maker for your Airbnb but, Keurig has a lot of options for you to choose from. Out of all the Keurig coffee makers, I think the Keurig K-Duo is the best option if you have an Airbnb listing.

Let’s take a look at the features and benefits of a Keurig K-Duo.

Water Reservoir

The K-Duo has a water reservoir placed at the back of the machine and it has a capacity of up to 60 ounces. This is very convenient if you have more than one guest as they don’t have to fill up the reservoir each time they need to brew a cup.

Brew Sizes

The K-Duo is one of the best options to put in an Airbnb as it can brew 4 different cup sizes – 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz. and this allows your guests to have an option of brewing a smaller or larger cup, depending on their preferences.

Aside from that, the K-Duo also has a carafe which means your guests don’t have to wait for their turn to brew their coffee. Imagine your Airbnb listing accommodated 10 guests. They will be waiting in line just to get a fresh cup of Joe.

With the K-Duo’s carafe, it can make 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups at a time. This is great if your house is on the bigger side and can accommodate a large party.

Auto-Brew Function

The beauty of the Keurig K-Duo is that you can program the carafe side to brew at a specific time. This auto-brew feature can be a time saver, especially if your guests are in a rush in the morning trying to get ready.

The carafe can be set up to brew up to 24 hours in advance so you can put up a little laminated instruction near the machine. This way, your guests can have the option to use the auto brew function.

Ease of Use

Keurigs are very easy to use and the K-Duo has very straightforward buttons which means your guests will have an easy time brewing coffee.

The K-Duo also has an auto-off feature that turns the brewer off 5 minutes after you’ve brewed a single cup. Aside from that, the heating plate also turns off 2 hours after your last carafe brew.

In an Airbnb where guests can sometimes be in a rush and forget to turn off stuff (hopefully not!), the auto-off feature of a K-Duo can be a lifesaver.

Other Features

The K-Duo also has a “STRONG” button which will give your guests the option to brew a stronger coffee.

It also has a “Pause and Pour” feature in which the K-Duo pauses mid-brew for 20 seconds. Sometimes, you can’t wait for the whole pot to brew so K-Duo gives you the option to pour coffee before it even finishes brewing.

Cleaning a K-Duo is also easy as it has a removable drip tray so you can clean the coffee maker after the guests leave your place. But, do make sure to descale the K-Duo every 3 to 6 months to maintain and keep it clean.

If you have frequent Airbnb bookings, I recommend descaling the K-Duo once every 3 months, especially if it is being used by guests all the time.

Design

Since the K-Duo can brew a single cup and has a carafe included, it is on the bulkier side. It can take up more space which can be an issue if you have a smaller listing on Airbnb and don’t have enough space for a bulky machine. But, if your house can accommodate more than 6 people, the K-Duo is a great option.

Pros and Cons of using Keurig for an Airbnb

Having a coffee maker in your Airbnb listing can definitely make guests happy, especially if they drink coffee all the time. Here are the pros and cons of placing a Keurig K-Duo in your Airbnb listing.

Pros

A Keurig K-Duo is a time saver for guests who are always in a rush. With the auto-brew function, your guests can have a fresh cup in the morning ready for them before they go on about their day.

Keurigs are also very convenient since your guests can opt to just brew a K-cup pod instead of having to deal with coffee grounds. Maybe it’s just me but, I certainly would not want to go through the whole process of brewing coffee if I am on vacation.

You can also offer a variety of K-cup pods since Keurig offers a wide selection of coffee flavors. Not only that, you can also offer chocolate and tea K-cup pods as they can be brewed on a K-Duo.

A K-Duo can also have minimal cleanup for your guests and yourself as a host.

Cons

As good as the K-Duo (and other Keurigs) is, there are still some disadvantages to using one in your listing.

Keurigs and other coffee makers that use coffee pods generate more waste since these coffee pods are single-use. If you have a lot of guests booking your listing, these coffee pods can stack up in landfills and can take up to 500 years to decompose.

You can use a reusable filter on a K-Duo but you have to buy it separately.

K-cup pods are also expensive and they can stack up if you have bookings all the time. You won’t know the preferences of your guests and you’ll probably have to buy a lot of flavors to cater to different guests.

Additionally, not all guests prefer using Keurigs and other single-serve coffee makers. Some guests still prefer a good ol’ coffee maker and they will sometimes bring their own coffee to brew.

Not having enough brewing options can make you miss out on potential bookings. Senior guests may also be used to regular coffee makers and may have a hard time using a Keurig even if they are easy to use.

Final Thoughts

Even if you have a smaller listing, it can be great to have a Keurig K-Duo for your guests. You’ll never know if a guest drinks a lot of coffee and wants to brew a whole pot for their party.

The K-Duo is a great option because it is versatile, easy to use, and convenient which I think Airbnb guests will appreciate. Whether you have a single guest or a large group booking your place, you’ll give them the option to have a fresh cup of coffee during their stay with a Keurig K-Duo.
