My Favorite Nespresso Latte Recipe

nespresso machine and latte

A Nespresso machine can be a very convenient machine to use if you want a quick cup of coffee. You just turn the machine on, place a coffee capsule, and brew your coffee!

Everyone’s taste preference is different and what’s best for me may not suit your taste. Having said that, the latte recipe I will be talking about in this article can be a good base for you to try new flavors.

The best Nespresso latte for me is a Nutella-flavored latte so I will be sharing with you a Nutella Latte Recipe that you can make using your Nespresso machine. If you don’t like Nutella, I’ve also included other latte flavors that you can make!

Ingredients Needed

Before you can make a Nespresso latte, you need a couple of ingredients aside from your Nespresso capsule. Here are the ingredients you need:

Nespresso Capsule

Nespresso has a lot of coffee capsule flavors that you can choose from. If you want to mimic the strong espresso shot, you can go for the double espresso pods. You can also use 2 coffee capsules to have a stronger coffee taste.

If you have the VertuoLine, you can use the Double Espresso Chiaro. Otherwise, use any flavor of the Nespresso coffee capsule you want.

Nutella

For the best Nespresso latte recipe, we will be making a Nutella latte so you’ll be needing Nutella for this.

You don’t really need to specifically use Nutella. If you have a preferred hazelnut-flavored spread, you can use that as well.

Milk

To make a latte, you will also need milk. You can use whole milk for a richer and creamier latte

But, you can also use soy milk, almond milk, or other milk alternatives depending on your dietary needs. Just note that the consistency of the milk may differ once frothed.

Flavored Syrups and Sauces

If you want additional flavors in your latte, you can also add flavored syrups or sauces to your drink. If you want your drink with extra hazelnut flavors, you can use Torani Hazelnut Syrup. You can even add in a mocha sauce for that extra chocolatey flavor.

You can experiment with different flavors and see what you like. This is optional so you can skip adding syrup if it’s not something you like.

Sweeteners

This is also another optional ingredient but if you have a sweet tooth, you might want to add some sweeteners or sugar to your drink.

Ice

If you want to make an iced latte, you will need ice.

Whipped Cream

For an extra treat, you can add a dollop of whipped cream to your drink whether you make a hot or iced latte!

Step-By-Step Process on How to Make a Nespresso Nutella Latte

    1. Plug your machine and press the power button to turn it on. The power button is usually the cup icon and will blink after you press it.

    2. Wait for the power button to stop blinking. This means the machine has stopped warming up and you can start brewing your coffee.

    3. Pour 40 ml into the water tank

    4. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of Nutella in your glass. You can also add any sweetener and 1 to 2 tablespoons of your preferred flavored syrup.

    5. Place the glass with the Nutella on the tray.

    6. Place your preferred Nespresso capsule inside the machine. Depending on your Nespresso model, you may have to lift a lever or unlock the lid and it will open up.

    7. Brew your coffee over Nutella by pressing the espresso button. You can brew another capsule if you want a stronger coffee flavor.

    8. Once the coffee has been dispensed, mix the coffee and Nutella together.

    9. Pour about 160 ml of milk into a saucepan and warm the milk. If you want to make iced latte, skip this step.

    10. Transfer the milk into a milk jug or any other heatproof jug. Froth the milk until it forms a thin layer of microfoam.

    11. Pour the milk into the coffee and Nutella mixture and the microfoam layer on top of your drink.

What Other Nespresso Lattes Can I Make?

If you are not a fan of Nutella, you can always tweak the recipe to make it your own. The only ingredient you can’t change is the coffee capsules since you will be using them to brew the coffee to use for your latte.

However, you can choose the flavor of the coffee capsule but make sure they are compatible with your machine. You don’t want to accidentally use other single-serve coffee pods only for it to fit.

Make sure to also use a strong blend so you can still taste the coffee flavor along with the milk and whatever syrup or sauce you put in.

If you want to make other lattes, just follow the same steps as above and replace Nutella with your preferred syrups and sauces. You can choose to make these drinks hot or iced depending on your preference.

Here are some ideas of the other Nespresso latte you can make:

Vanilla Latte

For a vanilla latte, use vanilla syrup instead of a hazelnut spread. Place a couple of tablespoons of vanilla syrup into a glass and brew your coffee over the syrup.

Caramel Latte

For a sweet and creamy latte, you can use caramel syrup and sauce for your latte.

Cinnamon Latte

For a comforting drink with hints of spice, consider putting brown sugar and cinnamon syrup in your drink. You can also top your drink with cinnamon sugar or extra cinnamon powder for that extra kick.

Peppermint Mocha Latte

If you have a Vertuo machine, you can use the Peppermint Pinwheel Coffee Pods to create your peppermint mocha latte. But, you can use whatever coffee pod you like.

Brew your coffee over peppermint syrup and chocolate sauce to have a festive drink even if it is not the holidays yet!

Final Thoughts

I am a chocolate-hazelnut spread lover so I chose a Nutella latte for the best Nespresso latte recipe. It has a chocolatey and nutty flavor which I think goes well with coffee. Well, I generally like my drinks sweet so I may be biased about that.

If Nutella is not your thing, you can always replace it with vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, or just plain ol’ chocolate syrup. You can even just make a regular latte and skip all the additional syrups and sauces altogether!

But, if you are a chocolate-hazelnut spread lover like me, why don’t you give this a try and let me know what you think!
