Design

The K-Slim is one of Keurig’s more compact single-serve coffee makers. At less than 5 inches wide, you won’t have to worry about fitting this machine on your countertop, especially if you have limited counter space.

However, the machine is 15.2 inches long since the water reservoir is located at the back. The K-Slim is also about 16” tall when the handle is open. It may feel a bit tight if you have a smaller counter space.

With the water reservoir being at the back, you’ll probably have to move the machine to fill it with water. But, the good thing is that the water reservoir is removable so it will be easier to refill the water tank.

Features

The K-Slim’s water reservoir holds up to 46 oz of water so you don’t have to keep refilling it if you want to brew multiple cups a day. This lets you brew up to 4 cups of 8 oz cup size in just one refill.

Unlike some Keurig models that have four brew sizes, the K-Slim only has three cup sizes: 8, 10, and 12 oz. This may feel limiting if you like drinking smaller cups throughout the day. But, if you drinking larger cups of coffee, the K-Slim could be a great option.

The K-Slim also features a Multistream Technology that gives your coffee more flavor and aroma.

Aside from giving you fresh coffee, the K-Slim also lets you know if you need to refill the water reservoir or to descale the machine. Two light indicators in the K-Slim will light up if you need to do any of those things.

These two indicators are not easy to miss since they are also located on the control panel where the brew and cup size buttons are. You also don’t have to worry about leaving the K-Slim powered on since it will automatically shut off 5 minutes after your last brew.

Performance

The K-Slim is a very convenient machine since there are not a lot of features in it. Even with limited features, the K-Slim can make a decent cup of coffee.

As I mentioned earlier, it has a Multistream Technology that gives your coffee more flavor and aroma which results in better-tasting coffee. The K-Slim also brews coffee in just minutes so you won’t have to wait for a brewing time.

When it comes to the coffee’s temperature, the coffee does come out hot. However, the K-Slim does not have temperature control so you really can’t adjust it if you want a hotter or cooler coffee.

Pricing

The K-Slim retails at $129 but you can usually find it on sale on their website or even on Amazon. The machine does not include K-Cup pods so you will have to buy them separately.

Depending on the Keurig-partnered brand and the number of pods in a pack, K-Cup pods can cost anything from about $20 to $50. If you are looking for something cheaper, Dunkin’ and Green Mountain K-Cups are typically less expensive than Starbucks ones.

You can also buy the My K-Cup Universal Coffee Filter if you want to save money. This way, you can use your own coffee grounds instead of buying K-Cup pods.

Maintenance

Aside from being very easy to use, the Keurig K-Slim is also easy to maintain. You can clean all the removable parts daily and descale the machine once every 3 to 6 months.

With regular use, your coffee maker will see some buildup of calcium and mineral deposits. These deposits can clog your machine which can affect its performance and the quality of your coffee.

If not descaled, your K-Slim can brew coffee longer, make your coffee cold, or stop working altogether. To descale a K-Slim, you can use a descaling solution or a vinegar and water mixture.

Descaling your K-Slim will remove these buildups and will make your machine perform at its best.

Wrapping Up

If you want a single-serve coffee maker that is easy to use and convenient, the K-Slim is a great option.

This is also great if you have limited counter space, although it can feel a bit tight since it is a little bit long. But, with its sleek and slim design, it can be easy to place this anywhere on your countertop.

If you have busy mornings and need a quick caffeine fix before you start your day, the Keurig K-slim can be just for you!
